For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

Rudyard Kipling

Have you ever heard the expression "the wolf is at the door"? It may have originated in the mid-15th century with "keep the wolf from the gate" which meant to ward off hunger or poverty. Keeping the wolf from the door meant then, and still means now, to provide for yourself and those you love in a time of need.

When we suffer a disaster, we often depend on family, friends and neighbors to rally round and help provide for one another. The only way that can happen is if we develop a strong support network. Get to know your neighbors. Keep in touch with family. Develop close and lasting friendships. Do good deeds for others and all of the right people will reciprocate.
